The Equinox Is Going Electric

The Chevy Equinox electric SUV is built from the ground up to harness the power of GM’s Ultium Platform. The Equinox EV joins the electric Silverado and Blazer in Chevrolet’s vision for an all-electric future. Learn more about electric Chevy models at Mike Anderson’s Chevy Chicago now!

Equinox’s All-Electric Future

The electric Equinox was built to offer an affordable, functional compact SUV with the savings and performance of an electric vehicle. Scheduled to hit dealers in Fall 2023, the Chevy Equinox EV will start at an estimated MSRP of around $30,000 in the U.S.

Chevrolet will launch both fleet and retail versions. Also, it will come in two trim levels to serve customers’ various needs. Like the recently debuted Silverado EV, the electric SUV will also leverage GM’s Ultium Platform.

Steve Hill, Vice President of Chevrolet, said:

The Equinox has always played an important role for Chevrolet as the second-highest selling brand nameplate. Providing an affordable EV option in the industry’s highest volume segment proves Chevy is going to make EVs available to everyone.

Harnessing The Power Of Ultium And Ultifi

Ultium powers the future. Designed from the ground up to power our all-electric lineup, the Ultium Platform is Chevrolet’s electric solution for the future — making electric propulsion, exhilarating torque and zero emissions driving possible.

Ultifi is GM’s software platform that will usher in a new era of software-defined vehicle experiences and services. It will enable seamless delivery of upgrades, personalization options, and new and exciting apps to drivers on demand, plus regularly pushed software improvements.

What We Know About The New Electric SUV

At the debut of the Chevy Silverado EV, the brand also gave interested customers a sneak peek of the all-electric crossover. The released images show the Chevy electric car featuring an updated look of the conventional Equinox. The electric model is sleeker and more modern with dramatically sculpted sides.

Chevrolet also released first-look images at the Equinox EV’s two trim levels: LT and RS. Scheduled to be available Fall 2023, the RS model features a two-tone red and black interior with infotainment screens that take up almost two-thirds of the dashboard. Meanwhile, images of the LT show a silver interior with an overall silver and black exterior color scheme. Chevrolet plans to announce availability for the LT at a later date.
